A derby between Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid is always synonymous with passion, struggle, and excitement. On this football night at the Santiago Bernabéu, none of these characteristics were lacking, and there was even a surprise. Vinicius Junior was injured and had to retire during warm-up, but the Merengue team held onto the saying 'what starts badly ends well,' although with a tragic ending. The Whites drew (1-1) against Atlético Madrid. Brahim opened the scoring in the 20th minute, and Marcos Llorente unleashed chaos with a goal in injury time.

In the first half, Carlo Ancelotti's team came out with the idea of taking control of the game through long possessions to dominate the match. Atlético Madrid, on the other hand, faced good pressure from the hosts, which made it difficult in the early stages of the match to surpass the opponent's lines, although as the minutes passed, the game turned into a constant battle.

The first to threaten was the LaLiga leader. Brahim Díaz, who was a last-minute addition to the starting eleven after the Brazilian star's injury, found Jan Oblak's goal with a centered shot that didn't trouble the Slovenian goalkeeper much but served as a warning shot. Shortly after, Camavinga, following a good individual run down the wing, struck the ball with his right foot, sending it well wide of the Atletico Madrid goal.

Atletico Madrid's response was swift. Griezmann, after a good dribble in midfield, played a fine through ball to Morata, whose right-footed shot forced Lunin to stretch down low, causing concern among the Santiago Bernabéu faithful. A few minutes later, it was Brahim who showed no hesitation. The Andalusian, who initially wasn't expected to be among the 22 players, beat Jan Oblak with his right foot after a tangled play inside the box where a series of rebounds involving Saúl, Lucas Vázquez, and Koke led to the opening goal of the match.

After the Madrid goal, Atletico Madrid made good on the word "reaction." Simeone's men came very close to both 1-1 and 1-2. Lunin preserved the lead after a powerful header from Witsel, redirecting the ball for a corner. In the subsequent play, Stefan Savic's shot narrowly missed the right post of the goal defended by the Ukrainian goalkeeper after a great neck twist.

At the start of the second half, Atletico Madrid continued their strong response after falling behind in the scoreline. In the 48th minute, Griezmann delivered a corner from the right wing that found Savic's head for what appeared to be the equalizer. However, just as the Atletico players were celebrating the goal, the linesman raised the flag for offside, much to the dismay of the red and white players and bench, who protested to Sanchez Martinez about a decision that the referee did not need to review on the VAR monitor.

In the final minutes, Atletico Madrid did not give up. In the 76th minute, Correa made a good run down the wing to find Griezmann, who cleverly flicked the ball into the net past Lunin, who once again made a crucial save for Carlo Ancelotti's side.

Marcos Llorente unleashes madness Courage and heart. That's exactly what Marcos Llorente showed. When it seemed like Real Madrid were heading for three points, and
